Apa itu Diabetes Mellitus?
Diabetes merupakan penyakit kronis yang ditandai dengan kadar gula darah tinggi akibat kurangnya produksi insulin atau tubuh tidak mampu menggunakan insulin dengan efektif, sehingga gula menumpuk dalam darah.
Bahaya Luka pada Penderita Diabetes:
• Luka kecil bisa berkembang menjadi besar bila tidak dirawat.
• Luka sulit sembuh karena aliran darah terganggu.
• Risiko infeksi tinggi sehingga dapat menyebabkan amputasi.
Mengapa Luka Diabetes Sulit Sembuh?
• Kadar gula darah tinggi menghambat penyembuhan.
• Peredaran darah ke kaki buruk.
• Kerusakan saraf membuat penderita tidak menyadari adanya luka.
• Sistem kekebalan tubuh menurun.
Cara Mencegah Luka Diabetes:
• Menjaga gizi seimbang dan mengendalikan kadar gula darah.
• Melakukan pemeriksaan rutin untuk mencegah komplikasi.
• Memeriksa kondisi kaki secara berkala dan melindunginya dari trauma.
• Menjaga kebersihan diri (termasuk kaki) serta menghindari faktor yang merugikan.
Pemeriksaan Kaki
• Periksa kaki setiap hari untuk melihat tanda luka, bengkak, atau kapalan.
• Cuci kaki setiap hari dengan air hangat dan sabun lembut, lalu keringkan dengan baik, terutama di sela jari.
• Gunakan pelembap, tetapi hindari area di antara jari kaki agar tidak terlalu lembap.
• Pakai alas kaki tertutup dan nyaman (sebaiknya sepatu khusus penderita diabetes), jangan berjalan tanpa alas kaki.
• Potong kuku lurus dengan hati-hati, hindari sudut melengkung.
Senam Kaki Diabetes
Senam kaki merupakan latihan untuk mencegah luka serta melancarkan peredaran darah pada kaki.
Tujuan Senam Kaki Diabetes:
• Mencegah luka dan komplikasi pada kaki diabetik.
• Meningkatkan sirkulasi darah ke kaki.
• Menjaga kekuatan otot kaki.
• Mengurangi risiko amputasi.
Cara Melakukan Senam Kaki Diabetes
• Duduk di kursi dengan kaki tergantung bebas → posisi awal untuk merilekskan kaki.
• Gerakkan jari-jari kaki ke atas dan ke bawah berulang kali → melatih otot kaki dan memperlancar aliran darah.
• Gerakkan pergelangan kaki ke atas dan ke bawah seperti sedang menginjak pedal → melatih sendi pergelangan dan memperbaiki sirkulasi.
• Putar pergelangan kaki searah jarum jam lalu berlawanan arah jarum jam → menjaga kelenturan sendi serta melancarkan peredaran darah.
Gondok didefinisikan sebagai pembesaran abnormal kelenjar tiroid yang dapat terlihat atau dirasakan pada palpasi hepar. Pada kondisi normal, tiroid berukuran kurang dari 2 cm pada orang dewasa dan tidak menonjol. Ketika tiroid membesar, leher menjadi benjolan bulat atau oval yang dapat berukuran kecil hingga sangat besar, tergantung pada tingkat keparahan. Yodium merupakan unsur penting untuk sintesis hormon tiroid (T3 dan T4). Kekurangan yodium menyebabkan penurunan produksi hormon sehingga terjadi peningkatan TSH (thyroid-stimulating hormone) dari kelenjar pituitari. TSH berfungsi merangsang pertumbuhan sel-sel tiroid sehingga terjadi hipertrofi (pembesaran)
Faktor risiko gangguan tiroid
Kelenjar tiroid adalah kelenjar kecil berbentuk seperti kupu-kupu, terletak di bagian depan leher, tepat di bawah jakun. Kelenjar ini merupakan bagian dari sistem endokrin (hormon) tubuh.
Berfungsi untuk hormon tiroid mengontrol seberapa cepat sel menggunakan energi. Hormon Tiroksin (T4) & Triiodotironin (T3) merupakan kedua hormon ini masuk ke dalam darah dan dibawa ke seluruh tubuh, termasuk ke sel-sel tubuh — tempat terjadinya metabolise. Hormon Tyroid dibagi menjadi terlalu banyak (Hipertiroidesme) & Hormon Tyroid terlalu sedikit (Hiportiroidesme).
Faktor risiko antara lain: Genetik: Kelainan gen sebagai pembentukan/fungsi tiroid sejak dalam kandungan, Usia dapat memproduksi hormon tiroid bisa melambat, Kelebihan dan kekurangan Yodium dibutuhkan untuk memproduksi hormon tiroid, Konsumsi obat-obatan: Obat-obatan tertentu yang menghambat produksi hormon tiroid dan Penyakit Autoimun yang dapat sistem imun menyerang hormon tiroid.
